Introducing Godzilla 1999 as the first release from the Super Toho 30cm Series from X-Plus!

From their inaugural appearance in 1954 to the Heisei VS series and the Millennium series, Godzilla and other iconic Toho monsters have donned suits, crafted with utmost dedication by professional modeling teams. These suits, brimming with heart and soul, captivated audiences and fueled excitement.

In collaboration with Godzilla's former sculptor, we proudly present the 'Super Toho 30cm Series'—an intricately detailed figure meticulously designed with a keen focus on appearance, shape, texture, and pose. Leveraging cutting-edge 3D scanning technology, we endeavored to recreate the essence of the cinematic Godzilla.

This dreamlike collaboration marries scanning technology to enhance intricate details that prove challenging to reproduce manually, while the film staff from that era contributes their expertise to supplement posing and coloring aspects beyond the capabilities of scanning technology alone.

The inaugural endeavor of our project centered on the Godzilla suit featured in the 1999 film 'Godzilla 2000' (Millennium). The restoration process of the original Millennium Godzilla suit for this exhibition involved meticulous 3D modeling under the watchful eye of Shinichi Wakasa.

Maintaining authenticity, the coloring was faithfully replicated by Mr. Shigemasa Yoshida, the original colorist responsible for the suit's creation. The meticulously crafted suit, produced specifically for the photo shoot, will undergo a transformation into a soft vinyl figure using state-of-the-art technology. With collaboration from those intimately involved in the original production, our goal is to deliver a product that authentically captures the essence of the original Godzilla suit.
