Originally released as a garage kit by Yuji Sakai Modeling Studio in 2019—the year that marked Japan's transition from the Heisei to the Reiwa era—this stunning piece now joins the popular collection as a pre-painted soft vinyl figure, using the same meticulously crafted prototype as the garage kit.
This piece faithfully captures the hauntingly beautiful image of Godzilla roaring against the backlight in the climactic final scene of the 1995 film "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah." Sculpted by Yuji Sakai, it brings to life Godzilla's distinctive features, including his broad chest, powerful legs, and iconic stance, with extraordinary detail and accuracy.
Yuji Sakai himself was a member of the modeling team for "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah," and this figure is a tribute to his firsthand experience on the set. Drawing from his personal collection of treasured photographs, Sakai has infused this piece with the spirit and grandeur of Godzilla (1995), making it a heartfelt and authentic homage to the King of Monsters.
This figure is the result of an intricate production process, where the original cast model was converted to wax and used to create a master mold. To preserve the integrity of the details, the soft vinyl production relied solely on this master mold, minimizing wear and ensuring the highest quality reproduction.
